Return Policy

Thanks for shopping with Lakota Inspirations and supporting local! If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help! We want YOU to have the best experience ever! Please find below our main return policies.

You have 7 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.  Claims made after one week of receipt of the order will not be accepted. If 7 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. 

To be eligible for a return:

  • Your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
  • Your item must be in the original packaging and unopened
  • Please ensure you try swimwear bottoms on with the hygiene sticker and your underwear on!

Please also state the reason for the return when sending us an email/message.

Please note: The pictures of the products may vary slightly in colour or look depending on the display settings and resolution of your device. Lakota Inspirations will not grant refunds or returns if the customer feels the product does not look exactly like that in the picture.

Storing your Costume Jewellery

  • Keep Your Jewellery Secure. Store your jewellery in a jewellery box or other secure container that will prevent your baubles from moving around. 

  • Avoid Air! The air around us is what makes metal tarnish. We recommend using a ziploc or sandwich bag with the air squeezed out to prevent oxidization.

Costume Jewellery Care Tips

  • Don’t wash dishes or do laundry with your jewellery on. Many cleaning products that come in contact with your beautiful jewelry that can take off the finish. Why? Because of the harsh chemicals.

  • Don’t wear jewellery in pool or at the spa. Chlorinated water can react with the metals found in jewellery causing your awesome bangle or necklace to change color.

  • Don’t use jewellery cleaner. Cleaner made for silver, gold, or platinum is way too harsh for fashion jewellery which is usually plated with these precious metals. 

  • Remember to not put perfume or lotion with your jewellery on.  

  • Put jewellery on after applying hairspray and makeup. This goes back to keeping your jewellery dry. Perfumes, hairspray, lotion and makeup usually contains harsh chemicals that can damage your beautiful jewellery. By waiting until you are all done your beauty routine you can avoid potential damage.

EFT & Bank Deposits

How does it work?

Prefer simply doing an EFT or Bank Deposit? Don’t have a bank account but still need the Lakota magic? No worries- this option is for YOU!

Upon choosing this method after checking out online, banking details will be shared with you to enable you to complete payment.

Important Note:

If choosing the EFT option, proof of payment must be emailed to payments@lakotainspirations.com in order to process your order. It is also important that your order number be used as the reference for your payment. If these steps are not followed, we are unable to track your payment and thus your order will be delayed (and no one wants that!)

Payfast

PayFast is a payments processing service for South Africans and South African websites. You can pay via Credit/Debit card online securely using 3D checkout technology via the official Payfast website (check for a lock in your search bar when checking out to ensure your connection is secure!).

Payfast also offers the option of paying via Instant EFT amongst others. Simply follow the link after choosing your payment option and follow the Payfast payment instructions.

Benefits?
Because Payfast is instant– your order can begin being processed immediately after payment is received with no waiting time or further action required by you. Therefore your order will be processed faster, dispatched faster and ultimately, with you faster! Woohoo!

International Shipping

Found your Lakota Inspirations dream item but not based in South Africa? Never fear- we spread the love on a global scale! We also offer secure payment via Paypal so you can be guaranteed the best and safest service.

Courier to Outlying Areas

Live outside of the main city? Perhaps on a game reserve or farm? Still would prefer delivery to your door? We’ve got you covered.

We offer courier to outlying areas for only R99! Simply select the Rest of South Africa option when checking out online. Not sure if you are in an outlying area? Simply send us a message (061 063 8722) or email (info@lakotainspirations.com) and we will help you out.

Delivery Time
Once dispatched your order will be delivered within 2-4 working days.

Courier to Main Cities

Do you live in or around a main city? Looking for door-to-door delivery?

We have two options available. Standard courier delivery as well as express courier delivery.

Standard courier delivery within Cape Town is R75.

This option includes a tracking number which will be emailed to you once your parcel has been dispatched and collected by the courier. You can track your order online and make sure you know where your parcel is all the time!

Express courier delivery within Main Cities in SA is R99

We also offer express courier delivery option which delivers to main cities nationwide. Please note, due to the lockdown and the increased usage of courier services due to the e-commerce boom, this 24 hour service can sometimes be extender to 48 hours. This option includes a tracking number which will be emailed to you once your parcel has been dispatched and collected. by the courier. You can track your order online and make sure you know where your parcel is all the time!

Delivery Time
Once dispatched:
* Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and other main cities- 2-3 working days
* Outlying/Rural areas- 2-4 working days

Cancelling an Order

We would be incredibly sad to see you go but you are able to cancel your order:

1. If payment has not yet been made

2. OR if cancellation has been approved by us.

However once an order has begun processing, you will unfortunately not be able to cancel the order.

Should you wish to cancel an order, please email us with your order number ASAP : sales@lakotainspirations.com.

By submitting your order to us, you enter into a legally binding agreement so always make sure you plan on completing the order when placing it! We would hate for others to miss out on the Lakota magic!
